Things to do at Pride of Courland and in Black Rock, Tobago. 

  • Visit Fort Bennet 

Did you know that Fort Bennet is just a 2-minute scenic walk on the beach from Pride of Courland?Fort Bennet is located in Black Rock, Tobago and it overlooks Grafton Beach and Courland Bay. The Fort was built by the Dutch between 1682 and 1636. Later, in the 1680’s the Courlanders refortified it, in order to protect their then flourishing settlement in the Great Courland Bay area.

  • Turtle Watching  

Tobago is home to three major species of sea turtles- Giant Leatherback, Green and Hawksbill. These turtles are also endangered, so to experience female turtles nesting is a true sight of wonder. These turtles can each weigh up to 2000 pounds, lay between 80 – 100 eggs at a time and are some of the oldest animals on the earth.

On the Great Courland Bay, a mere 30 footsteps away from Pride of Courland, you can witness giant leatherback turtles nesting. This takes place during January to September with activity peaking during March and June.

  • Snorkeling

Snorkeling in Black Rock is a must. Get ready for a unique experience. You can either snorkel on your own or enjoy a snorkeling charter. Enjoy snorkeling amongst coral reefs with fishes such as Parrot fish, Planktivorous fish, Jacks, Tuna and many more.

  • Kayaking 

 Pride of Courland offer our guest the complimentary use of our two kayaks. Kayaking is a great way to exercise, enjoy the calmness of the ocean and to experience flying fish and dolphins up close and personal.

 

  • Fishing and Boat Tours

If you are a fishing enthusiast or enjoy fishing from the seashore, we can arrange boat fishing tours with some of the most experienced captains to take you to various excellent fishing spots in  Tobago.  Enjoy catching  some local fish such as Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Swordfish, Sailfish, Mackerel, Wahoo and many types of tuna and sharks as well as Tarpon and Bonefish.

  • Surfing 

Mount Irvine is 10 mins drive from Pride of Courland and is one of the best surfing spots in Tobago. Would you like to learn to surf in less than 30 min? Then we've got you covered.  Alvin from Surf Tobago is one of the best surf teachers. Alvin provides boards along with his expert, personal guidance. Catch some waves with our locals and enjoy the view.

  • Mountain Biking 

Are you an experienced or amateur  biker? Would you like to bike through some of the best trails that lead to beautiful destinations?  Then that can surely be arranged even if you do not have a bike. Eamon is an experienced mountain biker who has been sharing his love for biking and nature to our locals and tourists for over the past 20 years.

  • Dine at nearby gourmet restaurants 

Food in Tobago is definitely to die for, variety is endless.  Enjoy our local, international  and  fusion cuisine from some of the top restaurants in Tobago such as Café Down Low,  Z'SS Grill Shack, Fish Pot, Seahorse, Leggers, Anchor Grill and Bar and many more.
