Pride of Courland Tobago is a one-of-a-kind, pet friendly , family style, vacation rental that consists of 3 fully furnished apartments located on the unspoilt Great Courland Beach.

Pride of Courland is our take on a Tropical Spanish Style Villa, with the tasteful use of  Scandinavian lighting to give that homey feeling.

The vibe is utterly Caribbean: palm trees, a sweep of perfect beach and gentle cooling trade winds.

Calming, serene waves wash upon the shore, as they sing an easing melodic tune to you .

 

We boast killer views and a sandy stretch where you can snorkel mere footsteps away from your apartment.

Add a lush tropical garden replete with song birds and you'll never want to leave this cocoon. 

In the tropical garden you will be able to see a variety of local birds including Blue Birds, Royal Terns, Mot Mots, and  Hummingbirds; the inspiration for our apartments' names . 

Pride of  Courland is tucked away in the friendly, peaceful, countryside village of Black Rock, Tobago.  Close enough to all necessities, yet far from the hustle and bustle, our serene apartments offer a true Caribbean experience. ​

They aim to share their passion for Tobago and connect with new people by showcasing the island's authentic beauty. They pride themselves on providing guests with a genuine Caribbean experience, free from tourist crowds, allowing visitors to unwind in a safe and picturesque setting.

Our Little Village -  Black Rock 

Black Rock is a charming coastal village in Tobago, located on the island's western side, near the popular Buccoo Reef . It is a serene and relatively quiet area that provides visitors with an authentic taste of Tobago's natural beauty and culture. Did you know thatow that we are just 15-20 minutes drive from the Airport and Seaport?

Its Beauty and Setting 

Black Rock is a ,picturesque village located on the northwest coast of Tobago, known for its stunning beaches, lush greenery, and tranquil atmosphere. The neighborhood is characterized by its small-town charm, with colorful houses dotting the landscape and friendly locals going about their daily lives, with the occasional street party. The area has a relaxed, rural vibe, making it ideal for visitors looking to escape the bustling tourist hubs. The nearby beaches, such as the peaceful and scenic Great Courland Bay, are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely walks along the shore.

The village also lies close to the famed Nylon Pool and the Buccoo Reef, both must-see natural wonders. The surrounding area is teeming with tropical plants, and visitors often encounter local wildlife such as birds, crabs, and small reptiles and free roaming animals such as chickens, goats, sheep, dogs and cats.

Black Rock provides a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the bustling tourist spots in Tobago. The village remains largely untouched commercialization, making it perfect for those seeking to enjoy the's natural beauty and cultural richness. Strolling through the, you'll encounter traditional wooden houses and a slower pace of life.

Visitors can also discover nearby attractions like the tranquil Courland Bay, where local fishermen bring in their daily catch or for  marine life enthusiasts, Courland Bay offers opportunities for snorkeling. A short drive away, Tobago's renowned "Sunday School" in Buccoo features vibrant music and dance, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in local culture.

History buffs will appreciate Black Rock's close proximity to historical landmarks such as Fort Bennet located in the heart of Black Rock or  The Mystery Tombstone in Plymouth , making it easy to take day trips and explore Tobago's colonial heritage.

Things to Keep in Mind when Visiting

Transportation: To navigate Black Rock, renting a car is the most convenient option since public transport is limited on weekends, especially in more remote areas. Taxis are also available for quick trips.

Pace of Life: The village offers a slower pace, which may require some adjustment for those accustomed to urban living. Embrace the laid-back lifestyle to truly appreciate your experience, and remember that this is a tight-knit community.

Tropical Reality: Black Rock enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round, with a dry season generally from January to May and a rainy season from June to December. Expect occasional tropical showers, and be aware that the lush greenery attracts small insects and animals, including mosquitoes, sandflies, and lizards.
